Bringing the Past to Life River Stories from a Steamboat Captain's Wife
Maggie Gilbert, aka
"Steamboat Granny", portrays Pelagie LaBarge, wife of Captain Joseph LaBarge, in programs designed to bring the past to life with stories of Missouri or Osage River steamboat adventure and history. Not only does Maggie present an overview of river history, she also strives to include information specific to the locale where she is speaking, making each program unique. Both adults and youth have enjoyed the presentations which include an opportunity for audience participation in a question and answer session.
For information on how you can bring
Pelagie to your group, please contact us.
